In simple language, here’s what we will do for you:

We’ll create web page(s) for your business using information you provide about your products and services, as well as any additional messages you want to convey to your customers and potential customers.

Web pages are HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) code files that contain text and graphics which can be read and seen by virtually anyone with Internet access to the World Wide Web.

The first page will be your “home page” and it is the entry point to your website. Your website is simply a collection of web pages, including your home page, linked together to make your message clear and concise.

Your website can convey information as simple as your address and business hours, not unlike a “Yellow Page” advertisement—but you can also include “interactive” elements in your website that might include a special Internet promotion, a request for specific information, and links to other websites that are germane to your business.

From there, you can expand your website into “e-commerce capability,” even selling your products online, receiving orders and payment via the Internet.

An important appeal of the Internet is that you can start small and expand from there. The “dot-com” revolution has clearly begun: Many Internet marketers who began with only a page or two are now selling complete lines of products via their websites.

Your website will then be installed on our “dedicated server,” the computer that will “host” your website and delivers its contents to anyone connected to the World Wide Web.

So it can be quickly and easily found, your website will have its own distinct “address” or “domain” (also called a “URL” or “uniform resource locator”) which will be registered in your name and owned by your business.

Your domain will look like this:          www.yourbusinessname.com

Your URL will look like this:              http://www.yourbusinessname.com

If viewers know your precise domain address or URL, they can go directly to your web site by typing it into their computer’s “browser.”

If viewers do not know your domain name, they can find your website by inserting “key words” about your business or products into an Internet “search engine.”

For example, inserting such key words as “refrigerators and General Electric and Charles City, Iowa” into a search engine will create a list of General Electric refrigerator dealers in that community who have websites on the Internet.

Obviously, if a General Electric dealer in that town does NOT have a website, his name will NOT be found. Instead, the search engine will show only his competitors—and in all probability, it will even show other a refrigerator dealer IN or NEAR that community who sells not only General Electric, but other brands as well. You know which deal is more likely to make the sale!
